Gotham: "Damned If You Do" (Season 2, Episode 1)

The second season premiere of Gotham takes a long hard look at itself in the mirror and hits the nail on the head: 'Sometimes the right thing is the ugly thing." So they've given up and become a comic book. A nasty one at that. It's not exactly good, but I guess it's a little better than it was.

Gotham: "All Happy Families Are Alike" (Season 1, Episode 22)

Uh... Okay.

Gotham's first season finale is pretty much the whole season in a microcosm--entertaining in brief moments that float atop a disjointed, frothy mess. The overall effect is more laughable than dramatic. And that's even before young Bruce discovers his dear old deceased Dad had a Batcave of his own. Seriously.

Gotham: "Welcome Back, Jim Gordon" (Season 1, Episode 13)

And you weren't awful. Stupid, yes, awful, no. Way to go, Jim. It may be faint praise, but after the last two episodes, not being awful is almost good. It helps that most of the side bits are serviceable as well.

You were minimally adequate, big guy. Baby steps, right?
