In the 1950s, Collier Magazine published a series of articles on the "Conquest of Space" based on the plans of Willy Ley and Werner von Braun. None of thier plans ever went in to effect, but if they did they would have looked more than a bit like this:
This is from an Australian indie production that's been in production for a number of years, a fake documentary where people went in to space in the 1950s using "The Colliers Plan" rather than the more cut-rate real space race of the 1960s. It's just beautiful in it's aggressiveness.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to contact the guy making this film, but I would love, love, love to interview him for the site. It's pretty fascinating,and we wish him luck!
