Maaaaaaaaaaaaaan, this is the coolest thing ever! And to think I’d never even heard of it before yesterday, despite the fact that it’s probably the most audacious, most high-profile, most legitimately countercultural bit of Drive-By Geekery ever!
You know what? I really can’t think of anything that would add to what this guy tells us in this mini-documentary [WARNING: there is some minor nudity]
Or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_iuZ0NCSpo&feature=related
It is worth noting that the guy being interviewed at around 8:30 is talking out of his butt. He’s attempting to explain why the guy chose the name “Max Headroom” without - obviously - having ever heard of the short-lived character phenomenon.

I find myself wondering if this incident was the inspiration for “Master Bedroom” character - obviously an homage to Max - who was a pirate broadcaster in Howard Chaykin’s “Amerikan Flagg” series

I'm assuming this was probably the inspiration behind MTV's short-lived and deservedly forgotten "Pirate TV" show in 1990
And if you wonder what Max is up to these days,
