DC UPDATE: What Are You Reading?

This is going to be a short column this month, mostly because it has only been a so-so month in comics. We're in the saggy middle section of the New 52 inagural story arcs, most of which I expect to last 6 issues. I will say this, however, if Action Comics issue #7 rolls around and Superman is still running around in the jeans and t-shirt, I'm dropping that book. He should be in his Kryptonian battle suit in that title already. I didn't like the t-shirt look when they did it to Kon-El and I certainly don't like it on Kal-El, especially with the stupid cape tucked into his t-shirt. Yes, I am interested in how he acquires that new suit, but let's please get on with it already.

The Batman titles are all still going strong with Detective and Dark Knight standing in the forefront of both story and artwork. If you're not reading Batman, you should be. Just pick any title, they're all doing great. Also, in my opinion, the sleeper hit of the event seems to be Green Lantern. I was not excited about Sinestro being made a GL again and having Hal stripped of his powers, but with Hal having his ring back and Sinestro pulling the strings and calling the shots, the story is coming along great. I can't wait to see how it all turns out, and Sinestro battling his own Corps is proving that Sinestro has only one allegience, and that's to Sinestro. This is going to turn out bad for our emerald heroes and it's going to be one hell of a ride.

So, my question to everyone out there is, what are you reading (if anything)? I'm not reading anything from the Vertigo side of the house, I would include Justice League: Dark in that section, and I'm also not reading Aquaman or Wonder Woman, so if anyone is reading any of these series I would love to hear what you guys think. Until next month, true believers. Excelsior!

(Yes, I stole that. Take me away)
