I have just recently learned that GI Joe: Retaliation, the sequel to 2008's GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra, has been pushed back almost an entire year to March 2013. It was originally slated to come out next month. Why the last minute release change? Paramount states that the reason is because the want to convert the film to 3D and that they are also hoping that in March it can gross an opening like The Hunger Games got this past March.

Ok, first of all, KNOCK IT OFF WITH THE 3D CRAP ALREADY! 3D is not going to make or break your movie. At all! Second of all, just because The Hunger Games had a massive opening in a March time slot doesn't mean GI Joe is going to. It just doesn't. The Avengers had a May release and has already made over a billion dollars, it hasn't even been out a month yet!

Ok, Sheldon, calm down...

This just goes to prove that no studio executive has any idea what the hell they're doing. Look for GI Joe: Retaliation March 29 2013.
