FAN FILM FRIDAY: "Massage From Moonbase Alpha" (2010)

Well, here we are, at the end of the trilogy in four parts. Regular readers of Fan Film Friday may recall the "UFO: 1999" episodes we've run in the past, a comedic merging of Space: 1999 and Gerry Anderson's UFO. The series functioned as kind of a mashup where both series take place in the same "Universe," and showing the slapstick that results after Breakaway, when the two moonbases end up annoying the frack out of each other.

For those that don't remember, or are simply new, we've covered them pretty thoroughly. Check 'em out here:

Good morning, happy Friday, and welcome to another installment of "Fan Film Friday." Today we'll be interviewing Tim Smith, an in-the-trenches, oldschool Fan Filmaker from Florida. Tim is one of the the two principle creators of the "UFO: 1999" Fan Film series that we've been featuring here on the 'Bot. Tim, thank you very much for agreeing to be with us here, today.

TIM SMITH:

Thanks so very much. It is indeed a great honor to be asked to speak about this old project.

FAN FILM FRIDAY: "UFO: 1999 SID's Return" (2001)

A month ago we featured a "Bridge" fan film parody that tied UFO and Space: 1999 together. Much to my surprise, it turns out the same people did another one. This episode gives us more of the same, but it also throws some Captain Scarlet into the mix. Check it out after the jump.

FAN FILM FRIDAY: "UFO:1999" (1999)

There's a lot of really grand conceits in fandom, not the least of which is the urge to combine SF universes that don't have any connection with each other. It's a staple of fanfic - the TOS Enterprise meets Moonbase Alpha, or Dr. Who meets the (original) Galactica, or the Jupiter II visits The Seaview, or Quantum Leap bumps into Time Tunnel, or Kolchack turns up alongside Mulder and Scully. It's fun, it kind of writes itself, and of course you're not limited by copyright, budget, or the death of actors.

BREAKING NEWS: Big Screen UFO?

sysadmin 2.0's picture

Maybe this will break Republibot 3.0 out of his depression-

Robert Evans and ITV are bringing back Gerry Anderson's UFO

This could go well, or not so well... but that's the same with all projects like this. As long as it's better than Thunderbirds, I think we'll be okay...
