Okay, the Phantom isn't exactly within our mandate. He's more pulp than Science Fiction, but he's got a couple of things going for him that scoot him in under the radar as far as I'm concerned.
1)He's a pioneer in the superhero genre, being the first 'long underwear' type, predating Superman by a year and a half.
2)The character himself is quite interesting, being a man who stands between the two worlds of mysticism and science
3)It's a pilot on SyFy, which means that we have to at least peek at it
4)It was on.
The Father to Son legacy inherent in the Phantom mythology made this an oddly appropriate miniseries to air on Father's Day. Odd, because SyFy has shown itself to be particularly insensitive to that sort of thing. I'll have to assume it was an accident.
