Tonight, we get an adversary that Clark may not be able to defeat: a challenge that many men never overcome. The Potential Father-In-Law. And when that Potential Father-In-Law is General Sam Lane (played by Michael Freakin' Ironside), we might genuinely fear for Clark.

At least more than than we did last week.

Complete recap below- and as usual, spoilers abound!

EPISODE REVIEW: Smallville: "Isis" (Season 10, Episode 6)

sysadmin 2.0's picture

After last week's stunning ratings victory (Smallville won it's time slot.  Really rare for a CW show), we get some more movement on the Lois and Clark and the Blur relationship front.

So, with the magic words: "Oh, Mighty Isis", school teacher Andrea Thomas

oops. Reporter Lois Lane becomes the goddess Isis...

(But this time, she doesn't have to recite a rhyme to fly...)

Tonight, the tenth and final season of Smallville begins, and they seem determined to leave us wanting more.  Tonight's episode was dense,  but it set a tone for the final season, where Clark actually learns how to become Superman.

Spoilers abound.... it's a bird, it's a plane....

Why does Superman hate the South?

sysadmin 2.0's picture

In a storyline that launches today with the historic Superman #700 (by J. Michael Stracynzki); Superman, feeling that he has lost touch with America, decides to walk across America to reconnect with his adopted home after a couple of years of cosmic hoopla. I really like this idea, in some ways it serves as a sequel/companion to the famous "Hard Travelling Heroes" storyline. To help promote this story, DC Comics has launched a contest. The contest is simple- write an essay as to why Superman should visit your town, and your town will be featured in a future story during this series.

I like this idea. I think it's a good idea, until you get to the execution. The contest is limited to towns within 50 miles of Superman's planned itinerary...

EPISODE REVIEW: Smallville: “Warrior” (Season 9, Episode 12)

Republibot 3.0's picture

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to our review of “Smallville.” Our regular critic on this beat - Republibot 2.0 - was having “Connectivity Problems” tonight, whatever that means, and asked me to step in for him.

Just in the interests of full disclosure, this was the first episode of “Smallville” I’ve ever seen. R2 informed me, however, that I’d probably like it because it had Zatanna in it:

EPISODE REVIEW: Smallville: "Idol" (Season 9, episode 8)

Sam White's picture

This episode started with a guiding light falling on Clark and Lois in bed, apparently enjoying the days of their lives together. It was soon noticed, though, that Clark was in need of the services of a general hospital as there was a scar on his cheek. It was then that we--the audience--began to suspect something was amiss and we were soon proven right as this proved to be a dream Lois was relating to her therapist (a woman of the Bob “How does that make you feel?” Newhart variety of counselors).
