I've had to go through a lot of drek trying to find interesting fan films for your viewing pleasure. My favorite kind are the well-done comic parodies. This one sorta fell into my lap. It's based on the principal of "what do you get when you cross Pokemon with Jurassic Park...?"
Pokemon is Science Fiction, just deal with it. It’s set in a parallel world, it’s got time travel, they’ve got limited teleportation, human cloning, and limited anti-gravity. It just is. Granted, it’s inconsistent, SF-lite, but it *is* SF. Moving on:
I ended up blowing off Iron Man on Friday night so I could watch this film and review it for you. Unfortunately stuff came up, and I didn't get to post it until Sunday. Meanwhile I went ahead and watched the Saturday repeat of Iron Man, and reviewing that before I completed writing this one. Obviously planning is not my strong suit, and I've always had a delicate relationship with time.
That’s it, Blockbuster is now officially completely useless. I went to one today to rent the new Pokemon movie, “Giratina and the Sky Warrior.” I lumped all around the store while no one helped me, or pointedly ignored me, then waited in a line while no one asked if I’d found what I was looking for. When someone finally deigned to acknowledge my existence, I asked them for the movie. The fat chain-smoking lady behind the counter stared blankly at the computer for a long time without saying anything. “Sorry, there’s a crap-load of Pokemon stuff.”
