A month ago we featured a "Bridge" fan film parody that tied UFO and Space: 1999 together. Much to my surprise, it turns out the same people did another one. This episode gives us more of the same, but it also throws some Captain Scarlet into the mix. Check it out after the jump.

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. today we’ve got a huge treat for any fans of fan films: We’re talking with Jarmo Puskala, the co-writer of the first truly epic Fan Film, “Star Wreck: In The Pirkinning.” Jarmo, thank you very much for taking the time to be here today.

JARMO:
Thank you. Being Finnish I'm not quite sure what to say to such compliments :D I'm happy you enjoyed the film, for us that's the big idea behind making movies.

FAN FILM FRIDAY: "UFO:1999" (1999)

There's a lot of really grand conceits in fandom, not the least of which is the urge to combine SF universes that don't have any connection with each other. It's a staple of fanfic - the TOS Enterprise meets Moonbase Alpha, or Dr. Who meets the (original) Galactica, or the Jupiter II visits The Seaview, or Quantum Leap bumps into Time Tunnel, or Kolchack turns up alongside Mulder and Scully. It's fun, it kind of writes itself, and of course you're not limited by copyright, budget, or the death of actors.

FAN FILM FRIDAY: "Star Wreck: In The Pirkinning"

Ok, let's start the new year off right, shall we? As regular readers of this site will recall, I've long bemoaned the fact that there are no Babylon 5 Fan Films. I can't quite understand why, since it's such a ripe territory to mine, and there's no end of dangling threads from the various failed spinoffs. Alas, none. Well, actually, there *is* one partial exception, and that is the deservedly famous "Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning," a high quality feature-length comedy fan film released in 2005.

DAYS OF FUTURE PAST: The House of Tomorrow in Parody Form

Republibot 3.0's picture

This mediocre 1946 MGM cartoon - but then aren't all MGM cartoons kinda' mediocre? - is a deliberate parody of those "House of Tomorrow" shorts and displays from World's Fairs.
Despite the lack of inspiration in this, I totally dig the 40s animation style and the whole late-deco look of it all.
