SONG OF THE WEEK: "Sodium" by Mike and the 'Bots (1997)

Ok, the song itself isn't particularly Science Fictional, but it's being sung by some robots, and that's got to be worth something, right?
At any rate, I can't get the damn thing out of my head, and now, neither can you. Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! You are all my slaves, my mindless slave army, thanks to the power of infectious doo-wop, Bwa-ha-ha-ha - oh, wait: did I say that out loud? Yikes. Nevermind. Moving on...

DAYS OF FUTURE PAST: "Conspicuous Consumption makes our Love Stronger!" (1956)

Republibot 3.0's picture

Yet another "the future is cool" film aimed at women
in this case, rather shrill atonal 1950s women with really short hair. Bankers, I guess.
This short is so all-over-the-place that it's actually kind of legendary. I mean, it's a really bad musical, it's future cars, it's a kitchen of tomorrow, really, what the hell were they trying to do here? What are they even selling? Since portions of it are so amazingly cheezy, bits of it used to turn up here and there on MTV and Night Flight and stuff like that.
