EPISODE REVIEW: CHUCK: "Chuck Vs. the Tooth" (Season 3, Episode 16)

About this time last year, "Chuck" was on the bubble. Would it be back for a third season? No one--including the producers (and, most definitely including the network, who should have known)--knew. Then the fans kicked in and bought a whole lot of Subway sandwiches and it dawned on someone at NBC that they didn't have any good shows on. So they decided to replace a whole hour's worth of viewing with a tired comedian and announced that "Chuck" would be coming back ... after the Oleolympics, and only for fourteen episodes.

EPISODE REVIEW: Chuck: "Chuck vs. First Class" (Season 3, Episode 5)

[Warning: I write this review while sitting slope-side in Colorado, so I can't guarantee my ability to stay focused.]

Chuck got his first solo mission this past Monday night, much to the objection of Sarah and Casey.  But Shaw was determined to send Chuck on this mission and see if he had the makings of a "real" agent.

EPISODE REVIEW: Chuck: "Chuck vs. Operation Awesome" (season 3, episode 4)

This episode makes for a second out-of-the-park homerun in as many weeks for NBC’s show “Chuck”. [Note: as everyone who follows me on Facebook knows, my interest in football ended Sunday afternoon and I am now in baseball mode.]

Last week’s episode of “Chuck” left us with the impression that Captain Awesome had been killed. An impression that lasted about 120 seconds because the preview for this week’s ep showed him alive and walking around (the only weakness in last week’s episode as the cliffhanger ending could have been better served by previews that didn’t take the surprise away).

EPISODE REVIEW: Chuck: "Chuck vs. the Three Words" (Season 3, episode 2)

Chuck vs. the Three Words

To kick off the third season of "Chuck", NBC ran two episodes back-to-back. In the second episode, we learn that the reason Chuck ran out on his chance to be with Sarah was because he loved her. If that doesn’t make sense, wait. I may explain later (but, probably not).

TV Review: "Chuck": Chuck vs.The Best Friend

For both of the “Chuck” fans (“Chuckers”?) who haven’t noticed, all episodes of the show are titled “Chuck vs. … “ something. The Delorean. The In-Laws. The Spastic Colon. Something.

This episode could have been titled “Chuck vs. Philadelphia.” Those of us who didn’t sleep through government class—or, at least, stayed awake for the crucial bits—may remember that “Philadelphia” comes from the Greek word “phileo”, which means “brotherly love.” This episode of “Chuck”, while being one of the funniest episodes in a while, was all about brotherly love.
