This CGI short has a LOT of attention to detail--watch for the computers from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea in the control tower--and being done in mostly black and white is a nice touch.
In the effort to broaden our fan film horizons, I've found this short film featuring a highly-detailed radio controlled model of the Chariot from Lost In Space tooling around the Trona Pinnacles out in California, which was the backdrop for the original series, as well as numerous other sci-fi films.

Is this a fan film? It's hard to say, in that there's no plot, but it's entirely derived from five different long-dead TV series. So maybe it is, maybe it isn't, more likely it's its own weird subset thereof. Let's just call it "Random Crap That's Cool."
Every year there are dozens of pilot episodes made. These are essentially a working model or proof of concept episode for a potential new TV series. Some of these are fully-fledged episodes, and some are only partial-length. Others are feature length. Based on the strengths or weaknesses of these ‘proposals’, networks decide which new shows they’re going to pick up and which ones they’re not.
