EPISODE REVIEW: Ben 10 Ultimate Alien “Creature From Beyond” (Season 2, Episode 7)

Republibot 3.0's picture

There’s this old dude named “George” who’s in a rest home. He’s been there for 40 years, no one can even remember his last name anymore. He notices something odd about a coin he endlessly toys with, and walks out, after decades of being basically comatose. The guard is too shocked to stop him.

EPISODE REVIEW: GI Joe Renegades: “White Out” (Episode 15)

Republibot 3.0's picture

Some years ago Tunnel Rat, Snowjob, and Frostbite were in the same unit, and were thick as thieves. Happy, silly-named insubordinate thieves. Snowjob and Frostbite went out skiing, there was an avalanche, and Frostbite died. Overcome with guilt, Snowjob left the army, dropped out of life, and moved to a cabin in Canada, which - I would be remiss in not pointing out - is what most people do to get out of having to join the army in the first place. Snowjob would seem to have some cause and effect problems.

RETROSPECULATIVE TV: Babylon 5: “Born to the Purple” (Season 1, Episode 3)

Republibot 3.0's picture

I remembered this one as being kind of weak, with a couple particularly terrible scenes, but it was actually rather weaker than I remembered. As usual, there’s some interesting stuff in here, but you’ve got to run a lot of water through your sperm whale to catch this low level of plankton.

EPISODE REVIEW: Stargate Universe: “Alliances” (Season 2, Episode 13)

Republibot 3.0's picture

The Destiny receives two visitors via the Communication Stones: A lady senator (Senatrix?) and Harry from 3rd Rock from the Sun. In the worst tradition of Star Trek, the Senatrix is one of those pain-in-the-ass Ambassador/commodore types who show up to question Kirk’s command, make an ass of themselves, endanger the ship, and so on. Harry (From 3rd Rock) is the new head of Stargate Research, and an old rival of Rush’s.

EPISODE REVIEW: Generator Rex: “Divide by Six” (Season 2, Episode 6)

Republibot 3.0's picture

Rex sneaks out to play video games and eat burgers…illegally. He ends up running afoul of four freaky people in town: A fat mountain of a Cajun, a punk rock chick with a guitar (That she never plays or hits people with), a severely injured one-eyed man wrapped up like a mummy, and Ricardo Montalban. They beat up Rex and incapacitate him. Then Six appears, but it turns out he’s with the freakshow this time out.

EPISODE REVIEW: Ben 10 Ultimate Alien: “Revenge of the Swarm” (Season 2, Episode 6)

Republibot 3.0's picture

There’s been a lot of debate as to whether or not the live-action Ben 10 TV movies fit the canon of the series. As of tonight, hey, whadya’ know, they do! Well, one of ‘em does, anyway.

EPISODE REVIEW: GI Joe Renegades: “Knockoffs” (Episode 14)

Republibot 3.0's picture

Flint and Lady Jaye take Zartan out of prison to help them find the Joes. Turns out Snake Eyes has been using the guy’s bike, and it’s got a GPS tracker in it.

Meanwhile, the Baroness has stolen the prototype for some experimental bio-camouflage technology, and wiped the mind of the inventor to keep him from talking or selling the tech to others.

EPISODE REVIEW: V: "Uneasy Lies the Head" (Season 2, Episode 8)

Beijing--a male peace ambassador begins to dissolve and a woman screams.

On Anna's ship a live-aboard is screaming in the needle machine as DNA is extracted (why do they treat DNA like it's a finite resource? I mean, have the V's really attained that level of technology without figuring out how to sequence and replicate DNA?) Anna thinks the 5th column leadership has been destroyed.

“We’re going to die because you two can’t stop thinking about a stupid dance!”

PLAY BY PLAY

Illana can’t stop thinking about a stupid dance. She’s glum and grousing for home. She joins the homecoming committee and quickly sells them on the idea of a science-fiction-themed homecoming which is, in fact, based entirely on the “Harvest Festival” from her homeworld.

RETROSPECULATIVE TV: Battlestar Galactica: “Experiment in Terra” (Story 15)

Republibot 3.0's picture

We come to the end of the Terra arc with Blue Squadron tracking that Eastern Alliance destroyer that escaped last week. Adama’s journal informs us that it’s a week later (Apparently, but there’s some squishiness with colonial units of measure yet again. It’s either seven days, seven weeks, or seven months). Suddenly the ship of lights shows up and abducts Apollo.
