EPISODE REVIEW: Smallville : "Abandoned" (Season 10, Episode 8)

Tonight, the Smallville stunt casting tradition continues with Teri "Lois and Clark" Hatcher and Helen "Supergirl" Slater playing the parents of our generation's version of Lois and Clark.

Yeah, both our main characters have Mommy issues…. so naturally, we have to introduce a Granny… Granny Goodness, minion of Darkseid.

EPISODE REVIEW: The Event: "I Know Who You Are" (Season 1, Episode 7)

sysadmin 2.0's picture

I'm hoping that this week is an anomaly. Not as far as the episode went- that was actually good.

I've been banished. For those of you who don't know, when my family gets annoyed with what I'm reviewing, they send me to the closet where I can watch the show on a 9 inch travel TV. Tonight, I probably missed some details- between the standard definition TV, the lack of closed captioning and no DVR, it's a wonder that I got as much as I did.

I'm hoping that this was just temporary. The family really wanted to watch the Pittsburgh-Cincinatti game.

Please be temporary…..

"Are you kidding? It's like dating a God… or Bono!"- Lois Lane
I'm glad Lois was enthusiastic about this episode, because I really wasn't.

Why do I think this is this season's first clunker?
Well, look no farther.
(Maybe a little farther. Click that link to see what I mean)

EPISODE REVIEW: The Event : "Loyalty" (Season 1, Episode 6)

Tonight, we get some subtle world building and an imploding building.  What more can you ask from primetime NBC?

Oh, maybe a semi allegorical drama about the relationship between King David and King Saul.  (NO.  I'm not bitter... not at all)

Sorry.  This is about The Event.  What Event that is, I'm still not sure..... but let's see if we can figure that out.

All this and Ice Pirates too!  It's Amazing!

EPISODE REVIEW: Smallville: "Isis" (Season 10, Episode 6)

sysadmin 2.0's picture

After last week's stunning ratings victory (Smallville won it's time slot.  Really rare for a CW show), we get some more movement on the Lois and Clark and the Blur relationship front.

So, with the magic words: "Oh, Mighty Isis", school teacher Andrea Thomas

oops. Reporter Lois Lane becomes the goddess Isis...

(But this time, she doesn't have to recite a rhyme to fly...)

EPISODE REVIEW:Batman: The Brave and the Bold: "Emperor Joker"

Tonight we have adaptations of two comics stories- reasonably faithful ones at that.

Problem is, they are so psychedelic that they defy my feeble abilities to explain them...

Can R2 conquer this challenge?

Well, go look!

Sorry that I'm late with this one- but I still beat most of the other websites that cover The Event.  Yeah, that's not saying much:  I beat Mr. Ed's Event site because I can type faster with my fingers than he can with his hooves.

Anyway, some storylines reached a new status quo, so let's take a look!

Tonight- The Maid of Might shows up in Metropolis to take on a mission from Jor-El,  Clark learns to fall, and Glorious Godfrey makes an appearance.

Darkseid makes his first beachhead in his conquest of Earth…. so, how'd he do?

EPISODE REVIEW:Smallville: "Shield" (Season 10, Episode 2)

sysadmin 2.0's picture

Tonight,  we begin to get some of this season's mythology into place- Lois gets a master class in Fate and the Hero,  and Clark gets yet another annoyance in his life.

So was it any good (beside all the talky-talk, that is)?

Well, take a look!
