Episode Review: Flashforward:"Blowback" (Season 1, Episode 13)

sysadmin 2.0's picture

This show is flashing to the bottom of the ratings, and to it's inevitable demise.  Unfortunately, it's suddenly turned interesting.   Tonight: Aaron becomes the dark knight, Zoey becomes a screaming harpy and Mark gets another name for his corkboard.

Spoilers, ho!

Episode Review: V - Mid-Season Recap episode (so not really a review at all)

Republibot 1.0's picture

So, straight on the heels of tonight’s very good episode of Lost (and I say that with full realization that I have no place saying it considering this is the first season I have paid any attention to the series), we had a lackluster Season-to-Date recap of V. A whole hour (well, more like a whole 50 minutes) of lackluster tension building to recap the very little that happened in the previously aired 4 episodes.

So, to help get you up to speed before the show returns full time for the remainder of its short life, make the jump to see our previous coverage of show.

Episode Review: Flash Forward:"Revelation Zero, parts one and two" (Season 1, Episodes 11 and 12)

sysadmin 2.0's picture

Tonight, FlashForward returns to burn off it's remaining episodes… and of course, NOW it gets moderately interesting. Below the jump, there's spoilers (ironic, since the show is basically about spoilers), and analysis. So, what are you waiting for?

Episode Review: LOST:"Dr. Linus" (Season 6, Episode 7)

sysadmin 2.0's picture

Tonight, Ben gets the spotlight.  Last week, someone predicted that Mr. Linus (or in this case Dr. Linus) would end his path of redemption in martyrdom.  Did Ben go to his final resting place in ignominy, as did Nikky and Paulo before him?  Or was he redeemed in the end of tonight's episode?

Well, for that, you'll need to either have watched tonight.... or read the convenient spoiler-filled recap below the jump

Make that leap of faith...

EPISODE REVIEW: Smallville: "Conspiracy" (Season 9, Episode 14)

sysadmin 2.0's picture

Tonight, a chilling tale of Alien Abduction.  Aliens aren't abducting the citizens of Metropolis, a Metropolitan is abducting aliens and cutting  them into itty bitty pieces.

Clever concept, especially since the abductor is also a reanimated (mad) scientist...  but a clever concept does not necessarily mean a clever outing on a Friday night.

Episode Review: LOST: "Lighthouse" (Season 6, Episode 5)

Last week, Smokey McLocke brought Sawyer over to the dark side (not that it was a long trip…)  Who will be his next victim?

Well, we don't find out this week.  We do find out one of his PREVIOUS seductions, though.

More elliptical references after the jump.

A pinch of pixie dust and You Can Fly!

Oh, wait. Wrong tale of arrested development. There is pixie dust in this episode, but no flying.  @#$#!!!

All this and a tiny bit of tangentally related commentary on Geoff John's recent promotion...

Spoilers, Ahoy!

Retrospeculative TV: Space:1999:"Matter of Life and Death" (Season 1, Episode 2)

sysadmin 2.0's picture

Here I go, reviewing 35 year old TV shows again... this time, episode 2 of Space:1999. I will eventually be reviewing all of Season One (even though I kind of like the spiffy jackets on Season 2) But in this episode, we get to visit a planet! How does that work out for the Alphans? Not too good....
