Republibot 2.0 has already reviewed this episode (Read it here: http://www.republibot.com/content/reviews-doctor-who-waters-mars ), and I have little to add to that, so I’m not going to bother with a synopsis or a formal review. I did just now manage to watch it on Youtube (Link below the jump), however, and as we’ve got no other real content today, I thought I’d offer my own observations.

REVIEWS: Doctor Who: The Waters of Mars

Tonight in the U.K., Doctor Who returned with one of the final three installments of the David Tennant/ Russell T. Davies era. Because it will be about a month before this is seen in the U.S., (On BBC America NOT SyFy) I will keep this review spoiler free. This will also make it much shorter than usual. When it airs in the U.S., I will post a more complete review.

Was it good?
Yes. Quite. And then in the last ten minutes, the episode kicks it up about ten notches.

More after the jump.

TV REVIEW: Doctor Who: The Next Doctor

sysadmin 2.0's picture

In 1984, I wandered (or was pushed) into a comic book store in Dallas, Texas. Among the bric-a-brac there were several bits of memorabilia that featured a bug-eyed man with a big grin, big hat and ridiculously long scarf. "That", someone explained to me, "Is. The. Doctor." In the next breath it was explained to me that although the name of the show is 'Doctor Who' , that is not the character's name, but an in-joke.

A show that had an obscure in-joke as it's name was too nifty an idea to pass up, so I started watching on the local PBS station- and was hooked.

Six Doctors later, I still am. So the prospect of a 'Next Doctor' intrigued me, so I watched the latest incarnation of the Doctor in this years Christmas special.
I'll try to keep this SPOILER free (or at least Spoiler light...)
