Does the current rise in shows about Geeks and Geek Culture (like Big Bang Theory, Chuck, etc.) signal something more theological than we thought?

Lewis expert and all-around-pop-culture maven, Dr. Charlie Starr will be sharing scholarly, insightful and fun thoughts on such topics as LOST, King Kong and Battlestar Galactica. SCIENCE FICTION UNIVERSITY:Truth from Twilight

Charlie W. Starr's picture

Yes. Twilight is not Science Fiction.

HELP: Send one of 'us' to Hollyweird!!!

sysadmin 2.0's picture

Bryan Starr, son of Dr. Charlie Starr (the author of our weekly Science Fiction University column) has been accepted to film school in Hollywood. This is excellent news, as someone who believes the way he does and has the background that he has almost NEVER achieves entry to an actual accredited film program.

Here's the rub. We pay Dr. Starr next to nothing. Actually, it is nothing. We pay him in attention. Bryan needs money to be able to actually attend school... so...

Well, we're asking you to donate money to send Bryan to film school. It's a cause that we believe in very strongly: start DOING something to change our culture rather than sit around and whine about it.

Stop whining and help Bryan Starr DO something important. Click here to find out more!
