BREAKING NEWS: Unsurprisingly, I'm Wrong Again - The Venture Brothers Gets Two More Seasons

Republibot 3.0's picture

Regular readers will recall back in November, when The Venture Brothers season finale aired, and I proclaimed it the somewhat anticlimactic series finale. Jackson Publick himself elliptically called me on this, since the show hadn't been cancelled. I apologized publicly here, and privately to Publick via email (Which I have no reason to assume he ever got).

EPISODE REVIEW: Generator Rex: “Divide by Six” (Season 2, Episode 6)

Republibot 3.0's picture

Rex sneaks out to play video games and eat burgers…illegally. He ends up running afoul of four freaky people in town: A fat mountain of a Cajun, a punk rock chick with a guitar (That she never plays or hits people with), a severely injured one-eyed man wrapped up like a mummy, and Ricardo Montalban. They beat up Rex and incapacitate him. Then Six appears, but it turns out he’s with the freakshow this time out.

There’s been a lot of debate as to whether or not the live-action Ben 10 TV movies fit the canon of the series. As of tonight, hey, whadya’ know, they do! Well, one of ‘em does, anyway.

“We’re going to die because you two can’t stop thinking about a stupid dance!”

Illana can’t stop thinking about a stupid dance. She’s glum and grousing for home. She joins the homecoming committee and quickly sells them on the idea of a science-fiction-themed homecoming which is, in fact, based entirely on the “Harvest Festival” from her homeworld.

EPISODE REVIEW: Adventure Time : Mystery Train

scizman's picture

So this weeks Adventure Time wasn’t as in-depth as the last one ,but certainly surprised me in how clever it was. Heck, I think it could have even given Scooby-Doo a run for its money. At least for this episode. This episode reminded me of a episode of King of Hill were Peggy’s Birthday present was a mystery train ride.

EPISODE REVIEW: Generator Rex: “Robobobo” (Season 2, Episode 5)

Republibot 3.0's picture

Sorry to be so terse, but my hands are killing me here: Bobo is acting nice, which is weird. Rex pries into it, and concludes that Bobo must be an imposter. They get into a fight and Rex knocks off Bobo’s head. Fortunately, he was right about that whole “Imposter” thing. Turns out Bobo sneaks away every now and again to visit sick kids in a hospital (Really) and leaves a robot in his place.

EPISODE REVIEW: Ben 10 Ultimate Alien: “Girl Trouble” (Season 2, Episode 5)

Republibot 3.0's picture

Team Ben is fighting alien robots from dimention 12 when it turns out their long-forgotten cousin Sunny is staying with them. This annoys Gwen to no end, and Sunny’s kind of a jerk. She hits on Kevin, who’t shut up about her boyfriend Antonio, and insists on coming with them on a mission to fight robots. Turns out she’s a fully-alien member of the same species Grandpa Max’s wife came from, and she’s good at killing robots.

EPISODE REVIEW: Sym-Bionic Titan: “Escape from Galaluna” (Episode 16)

Republibot 3.0's picture

Best. Swordfight. Ever.

No, seriously, take every bit of light saber play from the Star Wars prequels, roll it all up into one fifteen-minute-long fight sequence, multiply it by any random Errol Flynn movie, and you *still* don’t have half the awesome in the swordfight here.

And on top of awesome, it’s cool, too. (Those are separate things when done improperly)

EPISODE REVIEW: Generator Rex: “Alliance” (Season 2, Episode 4)

Republibot 3.0's picture

Actually the best episode in quite a while

PLAY BY PLAY

Rex is fixing the force field that keeps “The Bug Jar” (Kiev) bottled up. Longtime viewers will recall that Kiev is full of the worst of all possible EVOs, and ruled by a Gollum-wannabe called “Noface.” While working of the field, Rex discovers…sigh…Van Kleis.
