MOVIE REVIEW: Man of Steel

Wil Avitt's picture

Usually, I'm able to size up how good or bad a movie was going to be pretty quickly. Set photos, casting decisions, trailers, they all serve to give you a pretty good indication. With Man of Steel, however, I've run the emotional gauntlet to get to this point where I am able to share with you my thoughts on the finished product. I went from curious to hopeless to excited. At one point I was convinced that the once ill-fated Tim Burton version of Superman was finally (and depressingly) coming to fruition in this film. It's certainly been a wild ride to get to this point, but here we are.

DC UPDATE: Arrow Trailer Released

Wil Avitt's picture

Warner Bros and the CW have released the first footage of what could end up being one of the best shows of the new fall season, Arrow. If you're unaware, Arrow is based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, first made popular on television played by Justin Hartley on Smallville. Make no mistake, Arrow is NOT a Smallville spin-off. They share no continuity, as you will see in the trailer.

MOVIE REVIEW: The Dark Knight Rises

Wil Avitt's picture

Well, here we are, my review of The Dark Knight Rises. It's a week late, but I'm sure you'll all agree that the delay was both necessary and worth it, as giving people a little extra time to see the movie allows us to have a better discussion of it. If you didn't catch my DC Update last week, I will offer one last warning. The following review contains MASSIVE SPOILERS. If you haven't seen the movie yet, I highly suggest you do not read on any further.

MOVIE REVIEW: Source Code

Wil Avitt's picture

Theorizing that one could time travel within the last eight minutes of someone else’s lifetime, Captain Colter Stevens stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished.  He awoke to find himself trapped on a train, facing a mirror image that was not his own and driven by an unknown bomb to blow up in a violent explosion.  Now, Captain Stevens must continue re-living those eight minutes until he can figure out who planted the bomb and prevent him from detonating a meaner, dirtier nuclear bomb in the present.

All Quantum Leap jokes aside...
