TV REVIEW: "Chuck": Chuck vs. the Predator

This was a funny episode and a fun one to watch, and while its story line was basically wrapped up within the episode, I got the feeling that its main purpose was to set up some stuff for later on.

Computers near Chuck start to talk to him. And they seem to know when he’s alone. When he replies, the entity on the other end of the ether claims to be Orion, the original inventor of the Intersect and—Chuck believes—the person most likely to be able to get the Intersect out of Chuck’s head.

FANTASY MOVIE REVIEW: "Knowing" with Nicolas Cage

Sam White's picture

I went into “Knowing” not “knowing” what it was about. Not really, anyway. The commercials made me think it was going to be a slightly harsher version of the “National Treasure” movies. After all, it features Nicolas Cage as a guy that (it seemed from the commercials) was going to be running everywhere to find clues about some sort of mystery.

Aside from Mister Cage, the similarities to the “NT” movies are virtually nil. In fact, this is definitely an “OT” movie. [Ha! Just a little biblical humor there you might understand after you’ve seen the movie.]

TV REVIEW: "Smallville": The Episode from March 12, 2009

This was the best episode I have ever seen of "Smallville"!

OK, I may not be the most qualified person to make that judgement as I think in the first 6 years of the show I saw about four complete episodes. Then, last year, every time I'd try to watch it they were showing the same episode.

Chuck vs. the Lethal Weapon

[Warning: there may or may not be spoilers in this review, but I AM going to assume if you’re reading it at all that you’re already familiar with the basic premise of the show and the characters last names and quirks.]

When last we had left Chuck, the love of his life (Sarah) had seemed to be falling for MI6 agent Cole, but Cole had been abducted by Fulcrum and Chuck’s secret was in danger because Cole knew about it and, as Sarah (and everyone else in the episode) said, “Everyone talks.”

TV Review: "Chuck": Chuck vs.The Best Friend

For both of the “Chuck” fans (“Chuckers”?) who haven’t noticed, all episodes of the show are titled “Chuck vs. … “ something. The Delorean. The In-Laws. The Spastic Colon. Something.

This episode could have been titled “Chuck vs. Philadelphia.” Those of us who didn’t sleep through government class—or, at least, stayed awake for the crucial bits—may remember that “Philadelphia” comes from the Greek word “phileo”, which means “brotherly love.” This episode of “Chuck”, while being one of the funniest episodes in a while, was all about brotherly love.
